The World's an Oyster to Savor
I love to travel. Always have. Given a chance to travel, I pack my bags and go. Even if it's just down the road to a small town within 100 miles of Houston for a day. I love trains and buses because I have a chance to see everything along the way. Disclosure: The last out of state trip I took I won from Travel & Leisure. I got three days in Georgia, and they were gracious enough to allow me to book a flight for a ten day trip and rent a car for a week. Of course they were -- the airfare and car rental were cheaper than if I had flown over for a long weekend and paid car rental for three days! I also managed to save on hotels because I spent a couple of nights with a distant cousin I had met online (at his suggestion) doing genealogy, and a couple more with a beloved high school friend and his partner. Health and income have severely limited my travel since that trip in 2002. However, I occasionally run across things that might be useful to people planning a trip. So I have created this web page.
